That's my boy
Here's a shrine that we made at our last CI workshop of 2009. The outside was created with ink and clear crackle paint. Inside was decorated with CI papers and stamps. I decided to use it to display our oldest son's graduation . He graduated after 5 long years at Uni in Edinburgh(he failed the first year too much partying me thinks) but he stuck in and graduated with a BSc Honours in Physics. I think it was the threat that he would have to return home to Middlesbrough that focused him. He is severely dyslexic and we are immensely proud of him. Now the next hurdle is a job. It's so hard at the moment with the downturn in the job market and the glut of graduates. He's working on a voluntary basis with a renewable energy company in Edinburgh so fingers crossed.

ReplyDeleteEdinburgh uni is a great place (yes I am bias, I too am a graduate from that fine place of learning). Lovely work.
A beautiful piece and yes I know that wonderful feeling when your child graduates. I hope your son gets a job soon my daughter has a job but is having to accept what the NHS call zero hours contract she can never be sure of a full weeks pay so much for all her very hard work and Hons. You can't help feeling bitter can you as a Mum when the jobs they promised our kids are just not there.
