Catch Up

I need to catch up on my blog so I'm going to try to post every day...... we'll see how long that lasts!
So I'm going to start with a workshop day at http://www.craftyindividuals.co.uk/. Jean treated us to a day of fun making a lovely shadow box. I've seen these before but I wouldn't dream of tackling one on my own. We used those Viva Coco metallic paints (I think thats what they're called) that create a fab crackled appearance. Usually at Jeans I take ages to get going and can easily while away the time just choosing the colour scheme. But no today was different there was an air of urgency and I could feel the pressure . Slacking would not be allowed!!! We were plied with tea, coffee, biscuits, and chocolate and lots of encouragement from Jean. By 3.30 energy levels were low but I could see the finish line and with extra effort we FINISHED. For those who have read my blog this is a result that I don't often achieve.
I also got to meet up with the lovely Chris so pop over to her blog here for more lovely photos.

Sorry my photos are in the wrong order ........must try harder!

Thanks for calling , Enjoy

Ready Steady Stamp

There's a new challenge called Ready Steady Stamp here. It involves a list of ingredients that you need to use to create your art. It's a little bit of fun. I've never tried this sort of challenge before and I nearly didn't when I saw the technique chosen was faux batik! But hey ho nothing ventured and all that and after all it is meant to be a CHALLENGE. So armed with my iron (wow never thought I would be ironing in my crafting) I had a go , not very sucessfully to begin with. Luckily there's a video that explains how to faux batik and eventually after lots of papers stuck together I managed to produce something half decent. The theme was cat or dog and as I don't have any cat/dog stamps I used a foam shape. Not sure how often I would use this technique but I loved how the flourish turned out.

So if I can do it why don't you?

Thanks for dropping by, enjoy your crafting

Cream scones and crafting.....perfect

Thursday is Crafty individuals class and today we got to play with the new images and chipboard shapes they have produced. Then to add to the joy Morag had brought along a large tray of freshly baked strawberry and cream scones. Delish .... well it would have been rude to say no!

I'm begining to think that I work better when there's food and drink included in class as I managed to complete two pieces,!!!! Heck if lunch was served I'd be off the scale.

UKS Inchies Challenge

Here's my entry for the latest Inchies challenge on
UKStampers.
The theme was summer and in view of the heat we've been having the pinks and oranges were a good choice considering I made these in early June and when it was raining.

I brayered the white card with Ariondack inks , watermelon and sunset orange. The summer stamp is from Hero arts and the little stickers I got from Paperchase.

Finally I edged the inchies with a gold Krylon pen and voila!
