Dream a little dream

At our last glue & stick meeting we created textured canvases using lots of PVA glue, gesso, lace, ribbon and spray inks. I love getting messy as this is right outside my usual card making.  Under the guidance of the talented Gail I managed to create this.

The diamond trim is from The Ribbon Girl which a real favourite at the moment.... instant bling without the hassle of sticked down individual stones.

The lace and flower trim has been well and truely melded to the canvas with layers of gesso and glue.

I lightly coloured it with a pale lavender spray which I wiped off quickly so there is just a suggestion of colour. I'm really pleased how it turned out as I'm usually very heavy handed and most of my spraying looks as though I've dragged it through the mud!!

Diamonds are a girl's best friend

I wish I was about to show you some bright sparkly stones but I'm not. Sorry I'm still making cards with different folds and this week it's a diamond fold. Again instructions are from Splitcoaststampers
I've used a Woodware owl stamp set. A similar one was free with Papercraft Essentials magazine which I spotted on Kim Dellow's blog. I've paper pieced the owl, my favourite method of colouring.

Next is a card using those gorgeous images from Crafty Individuals
I can't remember whose butterfly stamps I've used here I've had them for ages.

 Finally a LOTV image
Thanks for popping by and I'm sorry there's no diamonds maybe next time

Spring

Unfortunately not the season, but it can't be far away can it? I'm talking about the card style we were doing in class last week. Here's a few samples. It's a style that can be used for all occasions and the instructions are from Splitcoaststampers.

A very versatile card.

Left on the shelf

I'm always on the look out for new designs for my classes and I spotted this one at a card show in the summer. I like the idea of putting things on shelves and the possibilities are endless. Here's a few that I came up with. Can you think of any others?
 Crafty Individuals scent bottle
 cupcakes
 boys toys
 sewing items
and finally flower pots.
Thanks for dropping by.

Take time for tea

At a recent workshop with the talented Jean Hardy, Crafty Individuals we made these delightful little booklets. The background papers were make with the new masks which are ideal for spritzing and sponging.

The stamp was a gift from a  friend who I don't get to see often enough but when do it's like I only saw her yesterday. We can talk for hours so the verse is very appropriate. I sent it to her with a sachet of coffee as she doesn't drink tea.

Birthday Frames

January is a busy time in my Birthday calendar and so for a change I thought I would send a couple of my crafting friends a frame rather than the usual cards.
The bunnies are those gorgeous Alice Palace stamps that you can get from 3djean
This special Birthday frame was made from my bit box. I just love rummaging through all those "bits" that I can't seem to throw away.

2013 starts

with a couple of Birthday cards January is a really busy month for me, 5 birthdays and our wedding anniversary. So no let up after the Christmas holidays.
This one's for a friend who likes all things cute, pink and sparkly so I hope it fits the bill. The image is a gorgeous stamp from LOTV. I've paper pieced her dress as I'm not too good at the colouring. The pom pom trim is from The Ribbon Girls, they have lots of colours.
A totally different card for a friend who loves anything to do with words and signs. I've made this from my bit box. It's amazing what you find in there, fabric, arrows, bingo cards. I was so so lucky that the bingo card had her birth date on it.
Ok that's all for now folks I need to crack on with those other cards on my list.
