Borders

I've just my hands on these lovely border stamps from 3Djean.

They're a bargain at £2 each and I thought they would be so useful on mens cards. Here I've used the cards as a border over some resist background paper. I've used the skull and cross bones on a card over at Scattered Scarlet pop over and have a look, but don't blame me if you have to buy them!
Thanks for poping by

It only takes four fat quarters!

A few weeks ago I was invited to a sewing session with the girls. we decided to meet with our machines for a day of fun, tea, cake and of course sewing. Now the last time I made something using my machine ,apart from taking up the hem of my jeans, was some time ago ok a long time ago when I sat my "o" level needlework exam. But hey they said " you only need 4 fat quarters" to make a delightful bag. Well I thought it can't be that hard, can it? Plus I was in the company of some accomplished sewers. So on a bright Friday we set to and 6 hours later mine resembled a placemat as did my friend Julie's. But I persevered and brought it along to the next crop and 4 hours later here it is. This gorgeous flower brooch was made by Gail.

I had a fab time and was quite proud of myself but the next time someone says" it only takes 4 fat quarters" I'm going to clear my diary!

Six crafters, a cottage and a cake

Some time ago six crafters got together for a weekend of fun, craft and food. Jean, Gail, Julie, Hannah, Andrea and me. We stayed in a delightful cottage near to Skipton. We visited the nearby craft shops, The Stamp Man and Samuel Taylors at Embsay to checkout the goodies and of course we parted with our money!
Here's a display of the lovely projects Jean and Gail prepared for us. We made money boxes, hangy things, cards and a mini album. We crafted day and night so don't think it was all fun. At one point we had collected all the lamps in the cottage and arranged them around the table. Nothing was going to stop us crafting!
Jean, Andrea and Gail were determined to finish that book before retiring to bed.

Did I mention food? Well the food was delicious especially the cake and it was lovingly prepared by Jean. Thanks Jean.

We enjoyed ourselves so much we're going again in November!

CI notebox

Did you spot the lovely box Jean made in this months Craft Stamper magazine? Well here's my take on it. I struggled a bit getting the crackle effect as I didn't shake my acrylic paint hard enough and ended up painting the paint binder onto the crackle and guess what? It didn't crackle. So being a stamper I resorted to a cheat and stamped on the crackle using a CI stamp. I also used the lovely house and tree die cuts from Crafty Individuals.

I've been trying to use more male themed accents on my projects and I'm sure men like butterflies
and the odd flower.
Thanks for dropping by sorry it's been so long since I posted.
